I started my career in the veterinary field in 2003 in the Lower Mainland of BC, working in a regular veterinary clinic before deciding to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist. I graduated from TRU in 2008 and began working in emergency, critical care and specialty medicine soon after. This has allowed me to learn from the best of the best for the last 15 years. I have a special interest in laboratory tests (clinical pathology), nutrition and neonatal care. I am instructor for several subjects for RVT's as well as on the job training.
In late 2023 I moved to the South Cariboo where I quickly came to realize the need for more veterinary care is high. I am hoping my travelling RVT services can help bridge the gap by working with you and your vet to provide services in your home on a flexible schedule. Separate from your veterinarian, I can also provide several services such as medication administration, ear cleaning, tick removal, nutrition consultation and much more. I am caring, compassionate and ready to help you and your beloved pets!
Along with being current in my Veterinary Technologist Association registration, I am also:
* Fear Free Certified
*RECOVER CPR Certified
*NAVC Pet Therapeutic Nutrition Coach Certified
I offer a wide range of pet care services ranging from simple nail trims to post-operative help to being the “hands and eyes” for your virtual vet appointment. Most services (excluding locum services where I am booked to work in a vet clinic) are booked through email, Facebook Messenger app. or text/call (236) 300-9229.

"Bruno" pictured here, is my own rescue kitty. In 2022, he was found badly injured and brought in to an ER clinic suffering from infected wounds around his neck area. After receiving medical treatment, he was sent to a wonderful rescue organization in Surrey BC to recover and eventually be adopted by me! He is pictured here hooked up to an ECG to check his heart rhythm following an abnormally low heart rate I detected at home. His heart function was found to be normal and his heart rate normalized after his wounds surrounding his neck and the pressure these wounds were exerting on his carotid arteries resolved. An ECG like this one can be done in your home when your veterinarian recommends it!
Services provided independently from your veterinarian which can be booked at anytime.
Services can only be performed on animals that are well-behaved and non-aggressive. Most animals do not like their paws handled, so owners will have to participate in the handling and restraint of their pet. Muzzles, cone collars or other restraint techniques may be needed.
Ear cleaning includes the procedure and my own cleansers.
De-matting is the shaving/removal of matted fur. I am not equipped or trained to provide a proper grooming-style full shave.
Oral (by mouth), Topical (applied to the skin) or Aural (applied into the ears). These medications must already be prescribed by your veterinarian and in your possession with instructions on them. I can teach you to do this at home and feel more comfortable with them.
I can pick up medications that have been previously ordered, paid for and that are confirmed to be ready for pick up, at your vet office in 100 Mile House and deliver them for you. I can also pick up supplies and food that are needed urgently from the pet stores in 100 Mile House and deliver them. These items must be pre-paid to the store if possible (online pick-up option) or to myself before delivery. Emergent supply items such a cone collars or baby formula may be arranged if in my supply.

RVT services provided with direction from your veterinarian.
with authorization provided by your veterinarian, I can remove staples or sutures from healed incisions. This includes pictures and a short report sent to your veterinarian for their records. Please note: I will not remove incision closures that I do not think are healed or that appear infected.
As directed by your veterinarian, I can change wound dressings, bandages or splints in your home. Your pet must NOT require sedation for this procedure. Pricing depends on the size of the bandage and materials required. Bandage material is quite costly, if you have your own dispensed by your veterinarian, the charge =$35. This includes pictures and a short report since you’re veterinarian for their records.
These assessments and exams are done in conjunction with your veterinarian via written instructions or via a virtual veterinarian you book separately.
A full vital sign assessment is performed including heart rate and pulse assessment, respiration rate and character, ECG with 3 or 5 leads which is digitally recorded and sent to your veterinarian, blood pressure and Sp02 measurement using a veterinary monitor. Temperature, mucus membrane and capillary refill time are also performed. A written record is also provided and forwarded to you veterinarian.
If your pet had been newly diagnosed with diabetes and you need extra help feeling comfortable giving the insulin injections, I can help! I have a glucometer, sterile water for practice injections, advice on diabetic specific nutrition and hand-outs on diabetic specific wellness from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), who set the standards of care followed by Canadian and American veterinary hospitals.
This would include everything described in the Full Vital Assessment description for your pet plus other intensive care nursing that may be required such as tube feedings and urinary management. I can be hired by your vet to work in their clinic, (which could include staying overnight in vet clinic) to care for your intensive care pet. If staying overnight without a vet present, all treatments directed must follow the guidelines approved under veterinary legislation.
Wound assessment, drain care or bandage changing. Also available for suture/staple removal ($25 for simple suture/staple removal, bandage change costs depend on materials used) as directed by your veterinarian. You must have written instructions that allow you or an RVT to perform these services, or I can be contacted by your veterinarian to discuss their wishes. Pictures and a summary of the wound/incision will be provided to you and your vet.
If you pet has had recent surgery that requires some at-home care you are not comfortable with, you can book me to provide the care and/or support to do it yourself. This can include bladder expression or catheterization of your back surgery dog, tube feedings or range of motion (ROM or PROM) techniques following soft tissue surgery or injuries. Directions from your vet and supplies are needed.
If your pet has been recently diagnosed with kidney disease, there are several ways I may be able to help you manage this at home. This can range from providing subcutaneous fluid administration or demonstrations for you to give, medication administration, diet counselling and urine testing such as USG and urinalysis.
I have a few other items and services I can provide if directed by a veterinarian, including a microscope, refractometer, glucometer, urinary test strips. Your veterinarian must order these tests in order for me to perform the sample acquisition and testing. Some samples can be procured at your house to be dropped off at your vet for analysis.
I hold a Pet Nutrition Therapy Coach certification from NAVC, and have extensive experience with therapeutic diets relating to disease processes. These can booked independently or in conjunction with your vet.
Includes an assessment as outlined by the World Small Animal Veterinarian Association (WSAVA) Pet Nutrition Alliance with full nutrition analysis, Body Condition and Muscle Condition scoring, and a nutrition record sheet with feeding calculations tailored to your pet's needs. Weight loss, disease specific or allergy specific strategies discussed.
Questions answered in a series of emails regarding nutrition using evidenced based articles from trusted sources, and review of your pet's current diet. If your pet has specific dietary needs, I can help you understand why. For example: cats with urinary issues and why diet can be one of the most important parts of treatment.

I have vast experience in hand-raising litters of kittens over the past 20 years, and will provide you with hand-outs and a weight chart for continued success at home.
